PYLOS

Command Briefing
Pylos is an ancient world used for millennia as a source of minerals throughout the galaxy. The planet’s past spans far beyond recorded history, providing its services to a myriad of races throughout the galaxy’s sordid history. The planet itself is mostly inert, its cool core providing ample rock, ore and material, but little else in the way of useful components for life. In recent centuries, the Imperium of Man, its current custodians, have reinforced its exterior with a major defence grid, serving to protect the flow of material to and from the planet. As these goods move onto and away from Pylos, it serves as a small cog in the great machine of mankind’s waning empire.
On Pylos’ surface stands Nestor, the capital city and major hub for the management of imported and exported goods. The capital is well fortified, though its walls and emplacements have remained untested since their construction. Within its centre lies the administrative buildings, managing the flow of goods from its many workers and in turn keeping them sufficiently provisioned to work out their days digging endlessly. A meagre Planetary Defence Force oversees the maintenance of its walls, keeps the peace and, most importantly, maintains the orbital defence array, the planet’s only significant defence.
Rumours have spread that ancient relics have inexplicably made their way into the depths of Pylos. Ancient relics from bygone eras lie dormant, waiting for the right hands to obtain them.
